David de Vries, a founding partner at CDS-LUTHI Intellectual Property Group, is a seasoned patent attorney with a distinguished career. Graduating Cum Laude with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, David has since accumulated over 31 years of experience in various intellectual property related fields. His expertise encompasses developing IP protection strategies, drafting patent and design applications in a range of domains, and their prosecution. Additionally, David is adept at providing opinions on patentability and freedom-to-operate (FTO) issues, and providing strategic counseling and guidance throughout all stages of IP decision-making.

David’s technological knowledge spans across multiple areas, including defense technologies, machinery, engineering, agritech, cleantech and renewables, construction engineering, medical devices, and water technologies.
