Mirit Lotan, PhD

Dr. Mirit Lotan is a founding partner at CDS-LUTHI Intellectual Property Group and holds a Ph.D. in Biology from The Weizmann Institute of Science. With more than 26 years of experience in the intellectual property field, her career includes a decade in the biotechnology industry, where she combined her work as a patent attorney with licensing and business development activities. This industry experience has strongly shaped her approach to advising clients on strategic and commercially oriented IP matters.

Mirit’s extensive expertise covers patent drafting and prosecution, patentability and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses, and strategic IP counseling across a wide range of life sciences disciplines, from basic research to applied technologies. Her areas of specialization include molecular biology, drug development, diagnostics, therapeutic antibodies, and vaccines.

She advises a diverse client base that includes multinational corporations, academic institutions and research organizations, as well as start-up companies, demonstrating her ability to tailor IP strategies to varying business objectives and stages of development.
